Paper Boats
We made them from yesterday's homework, folding our mistakes into hulls and sails. The puddle in the courtyard became an ocean.
Each boat carried a wish written in pencil, because pencil can be erased if the wish turns out to be too heavy. Most of them sank within minutes.
One boat, launched with no wish at all, floated the longest. We decided that emptiness, properly folded, is lighter than hope.
